The Florence Symphony Guild
The Symphony Guild is a fundraising organization for the Florence Symphony Orchestra. The Guild sponsors a Florence Symphony Orchestra concert each season. Following that concert, the Guild hosts a recognition reception for orchestra members and their spouses, as well as Symphony Benefactors, Sustaining Contributors, Patrons, and Sponsors. Additionally, the Guild supports the Florence-Darlington Strings and The Florence Youth Orchestra in order to assist talented young musicians in the community.
On December 2, 2012, the Guild hosted their second Holiday Homes Tour. That event was a sell-out, and the Guild looks forward to offering their third Holiday Homes Tour in December, 2013.
The Taste of the Symphony is perhaps the most anticipated event that the Guild hosts. Each spring, local chefs and musicians are brought together to produce an elegant evening for the community. The 13th annual "Taste" was on April 18th, 2013 from 7:00 pm to 10 pm. at Roseneath Farm, 1102 Cherokee Rd. Florence, SC. The event was packed and there wasn't a dish left un-tasted.
The Guild meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Florence Country Club. The ladies gather to socialize at 11:45 am and the meeting begins at noon.
