Piano Compitition

The 1st Annual FSO Youth Piano Competition

Applications with a CD of performance must be received by December 1, 2011. Finalist will be selected and notified by the beginning of January 2012. Finalist will be assigned a time to perform before a panel of judges on January 28, 2012.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all piano students enrolled in grades 9-12 who have a home address within Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Lee, Marion and Marlboro counties.

Rules

Prizewinners will be invited to perform the composition played at the audition, accompanied by the Florence Symphony Orcrestra at the March 2012 concert. Audition pieces must be performed from memory. The contestant must provide an accompanist and two copies of the music for the judges. The decision of the judges is final.

A non-refundable fee of $25 must be included with each application. Checks should be made payable to: Florence Symphony Orchestra. This form may be duplicated as needed. Please provide a CD of your playing.
