First Timer’s Guide

Box Office

The FMU PAC Box office opens 90 minutes before showtime.

Coat Check

The coat check is open seasonally and is located in the first floor lobby.

Concessions

Refreshments may be purchased in the first floor lobby prior to the performance and during intermission. Beverages are permitted in the theater if placed in a Performing Arts Center reusable beverage container, available for purchase at the bar.

Early and Late Arrivals

Auditorium doors open to the public 30 minutes before the concert. Latecomers will not be seated until the first convenient pause in the program.

Electronic Devices

As a courtesy to other patrons, please silence all electronic devices during the performance. Video and recording devices, including cell phone cameras, are strictly prohibited in the auditorium.

In Case of Emergency

For immediate onsite assistance, please contact the nearest usher. If you use a care provider, please leave your exact seat location (section, row and seat number) with them. This will enable the FSO staff to locate you if needed.

Kappa Alpha Order Escort Assistance

The FSO is proud to have the fine gentleman of the Delta Tau Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order at Francis Marion University to lend a helping hand this season. Service begins 90 minutes prior to FSO performances at the drop-off/pick-up station in the FMU PAC side parking lot located on Cheves Street (across the street from the Florence Museum). Patrons have the option of being guided to the lobby or their auditorium seats. At the conclusion of the concert, the Kappa Alpha Order’s Escort Assistants will guide patrons back to the drop-off/pickup station in the FMU PAC side parking or to their automobiles.

Parking

The FMU PAC neighbors have graciously allowed FSO patrons use of their parking areas for performances. Limited handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the FMU PAC side parking lot located on Cheves Street (across the street from the Florence Museum).

Noise

Please keep noise to a minimum as performers can be disturbed by even the faintest whispers. Patrons with oxygen tanks are asked to switch to a continuous flow setting.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located in the first and second floor elevator lobbies.

Services for the hearing impaired

Limited headsets and transmittal devices are available. Please see an usher upon arrival to reserve this service.

Services for the mobility impaired

Wheelchair and alternate seating for those with disabilities are available. For best accommodations, please inform the box office of your needs when purchasing tickets.

Smoking

The FMU PAC is a smoke-free facility and property.

Ticket Donations

Can’t make a performance? The FSO is pleased to offer your tickets to another classical music fan or donate them to a local charity. The FSO will issue you a tax-deductible credit of your ticket value for your records. Please inform the FSO office of your available tickets in advance of the performance day at 843.661.2541 or manager@florencesymphony.com.
